1929

Cesare Berti was born in 1910 in Villa del Conte, in the province of Padua. At just twelve years old, he was already working as an apprentice carpenter, and in 1929 he started his own business, establishing a small carpentry workshop.

1950

Cesare Berti moved his business to a new, larger location. He purchased a log saw and for some time focused on the timber trade.

1958

The new generation stepped forward. Cesare’s sons, Giancarlo and Silvano, founded “P.B. Parchettificio Berti” together with their father, employing over 100 workers from the outset. It was the first company in the sector to adopt computerized lines for parquet selection.

1980

The company followed market evolution and new technologies. Initially, it focused on producing patterned floors with geometric motifs inspired by the flooring of ancient Venetian villas and other artistic buildings. Subsequently, thanks to the adoption of laser cutting technology in 1988, production of innovative inlaid floors began.

1988

Further innovations. The company’s name was changed to “Berti Pavimenti Legno.”

1992

Production requests increased, and some commissions stood out for their prestige. During this period, work began on the Kremlin Palace and Windsor Castle.

2000

The market shifted toward pre-finished products: a massive change in machinery began, with the purchase of 4 new production lines. In 2002, production of large-format pre-finished flooring started. In 2004, 3 machines were purchased for pre-finished inlaid parquet.

2008

The new self-supporting vertical warehouse was completed. A space with 12,500 pallet positions and a storage capacity of 1 million square meters of parquet. Everything is fully automated in loading and unloading operations thanks to sophisticated computer technologies and the use of 4 stacker cranes.

2015

From the unmistakable Diesel Living style and Berti’s signature know-how, a new partnership was born. The result of research and innovation in material transformation and treatment applied to a wood flooring collection, where various formats and finishes transform every space into a 100% Diesel environment.

2019

The new collection of pre-finished square spaces was presented at Domotex Hannover. A true revolution for wood flooring that transforms a classic concept into a modern solution, bringing a breath of fresh, innovative, and intelligent air to the wood flooring market.

Laser and flooring, a sophisticated combination

The company was the first in the world to study the application of laser technology to create fine parquet and inlaid floors, true works of art that have made Berti Pavimenti Legno an unparalleled reference point for this advanced processing technique and the demand for luxury parquet. Thanks to this technology, simple solid wood or pre-finished planks are transformed into elegant decorations. Tiny pieces of wood, carefully arranged and joined together, can give life to true masterpieces.

A noble layer

Berti pays particular attention to the preparation of the noble wood and the support, favoring the technical qualities of birch wood to ensure maximum stability. By carefully respecting gluing times, the possibility of the first layer detaching from the second is eliminated.
