Photovoltaics and energy communities: Berti accelerates toward a more sustainable future
For Berti Wood Flooring, sustainability is not an abstract concept. It is a choice that encompasses raw materials, production processes, product quality, and the relationship with the local area. Today, this journey takes a new concrete step with the installation of a photovoltaic system at the Villa del Conte production site, in the province of Padua, and by joining CER Insieme – Renewable Energy Community of the Federation of Municipalities of the Camposampierese area.
A project that strengthens the vision of Berti Wood Flooring: to produce high-quality wood floors while looking to the future, with a focus on the environment, industrial efficiency, and responsibility toward the local community.

A concrete investment in renewable energy
In the manufacturing sector, energy is increasingly a strategic resource. It affects production continuity, competitiveness, and the ability to plan with long-term stability.
For this reason, Berti has chosen to invest in energy autonomy through a photovoltaic system designed to cover approximately 52% of the company’s energy requirements. This choice reduces exposure to energy market fluctuations and creates a more solid foundation for the company’s future development.
The system has a total power of approximately 719 kWp, consists of 1,565 panels, and has an estimated annual production of over 777,000 kWh. The east-west configuration allows production to be distributed throughout the day, favoring direct self-consumption and improving the overall efficiency of the system.

Energy that becomes shared value
The value of the project does not end with self-production. Joining CER Insieme transforms energy into a shared resource: energy produced and not immediately self-consumed, for example during periods of lower activity or on public holidays, is fed into the grid and shared with other members of the energy community.
In this way, photovoltaics becomes part of a broader model, capable of connecting businesses, citizens, and local authorities. The goal is to generate widespread economic and environmental benefits, enhancing the renewable energy produced within the territory.
Renewable energy communities represent one of the most innovative tools of the energy transition: they allow different entities to participate in the production and sharing of energy from renewable sources, helping to reduce environmental impact and create local value. The GSE recognizes economic contributions for RECs related to self-consumed and shared energy; for Municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants, a capital grant of up to 40% of the investment is also provided under certain conditions.
Industrial efficiency and sustainability: two goals that go hand in hand
The new photovoltaic system brings with it a significant economic benefit: the estimated annual savings are between 150,000 and 160,000 euros. Thanks to the incentives provided by the REC call for tenders, the return on investment occurs within a particularly rapid timeframe, up to a maximum of four years.
But the economic data only tells part of the story. The system also contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and allows for daily monitoring of the environmental impact by measuring the energy produced and the emissions avoided.
This approach is consistent with a path already established for some time: Berti chooses electricity from certified renewable sources, as evidenced by the Dolomiti Energia 100% clean energy brand. This choice strengthens the transparency of the company’s environmental journey and complements other Berti certifications related to product quality, safety, and responsibility.

A sustainable vision born from wood
For Berti, talking about renewable energy means being part of a broader vision. Wood is a living, natural material, capable of bringing well-being, warmth, and identity to environments. But for this very reason, it requires respect, care, and responsibility at every stage: from the selection of raw materials to processing, from finishing to the durability of the floor over time.
Attention to sustainability is already an integral part of the Berti world, as also described in the Magazine feature “Wood as a resource for the future“, where the supply chain, environmental certifications, and production innovation are presented as central elements of conscious green building.

Choosing Berti parquet therefore means choosing a product that combines aesthetics, construction quality, technology, and environmental awareness. The new energy investment confirms this direction: sustainability concerns not only what is produced, but also how it is produced.
A project born from a technical study and oriented toward the future
The project was launched in September 2025 and completed at the end of November of the same year. The installation of the system was preceded by a technical-economic feasibility study conducted by Power Ventures, with the aim of ensuring efficiency, safety, and long-term durability.
In a scenario where energy consumption is destined to grow, the system represents a strategic foundation for the company’s future evolution. It is not just a technological investment, but a choice of perspective: to produce better, consume more intelligently, and contribute to a more resilient local energy system.

Berti and the territory: sustainability that creates relationships
Joining CER Insieme adds a deeply territorial dimension to the project. Villa del Conte is part of the Municipalities involved in the Camposampierese energy community, along with Borgoricco, Camposampiero, Campodarsego, Loreggia, Massanzago, San Giorgio delle Pertiche, Santa Giustina in Colle, and Villanova di Camposampiero.
For Berti, rooted for generations in the Padua area, participating in an energy community means actively contributing to a more collaborative development model. Energy thus becomes a shared asset, capable of generating benefits not only for the company but also for the social and economic context in which it operates.
Sustainability as a development model
With the new photovoltaic system and membership in the local energy community, Berti Wood Flooring confirms an entrepreneurial vision oriented toward the future. A vision in which innovation, environmental responsibility, and production quality are not separate paths, but parts of the same project.
From artisanal tradition to laser technology, from certifications to the choice of renewable energy, every step reflects a precise way of understanding Made in Italy: creating beauty, generating value, and leaving a lighter footprint on the environment.
Frequently Asked Questions about Photovoltaics
